Pursuant to the provisions of former State Environmental Planning Policy No. 37, the quarry was registered for an annual production rate of some 20,000 cubic metres. This project involved the preparation of a comprehensive Statement of Environmental Effects seeking consent for
expansion of the quarry to provide for an output of 50,000 cubic metres per annum. The key issues associated with this project related to noise and dust suppression, visual impact mitigation, rehabilitation works and onsite water management.
This project was the subject of Land and Environment Court proceedings. The SEE documentation was supported by the Court in its judgement. This quarry now provides an important resource to the region.
