Preparation of a Statement of Environmental Effects (SEE) and Development Application were needed for the construction of a tennis court, pavilion, pergola and associated landscaping. This development included fencing and lighting for the tennis court, a single storey pavilion and terraced seating incorporated in the landscape design.
Given the location of the construction, both Byron Local Environmental Plan 2014 and 1988 apply to the land. Consideration needed to be given to flooding and ecological constraints, and Clause 14 in relation to development on land within the coastal use area.
Following an Ecological Assessment, it was determined there will be no significant impact of the adjacent littoral rainforest; nor significant impact on threatened species or endangered ecological communities.
